LMSFlex Release Notes: AI-Powered Voiceover
Release Date: 18.08.2026 Availability: All plans
Every lesson can now be heard, not just read
We're shipping AI-powered voiceover with word-by-word highlighting and your instructor's animated portrait. Every lesson page can be read aloud in a natural voice while the learner follows along on the page.
It's one of the features that changes how your courses reach people.
What's included
Natural voice narration
Every lesson page converts to audio using a high-quality voice model. The entire course is accessible by ear from day one — no recording time, no studio, no narration scripts.
Word-by-word highlighting
As the audio plays, each word is highlighted on the page. Learners can see what's being said, which is more than passive listening — it's connecting sound to text, word by word. This matters most for:
Learners building reading fluency (children, ESL students, early readers)
Anyone with dyslexia or phonological processing differences
Learners taking the course on a commute (audio + visual focus together)
Your instructor's presence
Upload a photo of your instructor. LMSFlex creates an animated portrait that speaks in time with the audio — a still image that comes alive. The course has a face, not just a disembodied voice.
This matters psychologically. Learners who see the instructor's face feel more connected to the material. They're more likely to finish.
One-time generation, unlimited replay
Audio is generated once and stored. There's no per-play cost, no bandwidth surge. The same lesson page plays its audio thousands of times at no additional expense.
How to use it
For instructors:
Create or update any lesson page in the editor (no changes needed)
Upload a photo of yourself or your instructor in the course settings
That's it — voiceover and highlighting appear automatically in the lesson
The audio regenerates if you edit the page text. Nothing needs re-recording.
For learners:
Click the play button at the top of any lesson. The page audio plays with highlighting. Use the pause button to stop, or let it run to the end.
Learners can still read silently if they prefer — voiceover is optional, not required.
Why we built this
Most online courses assume fluent adult readers. They don't account for:
Children learning a skill — they're still building reading fluency, and reading speed becomes a gate on learning the skill itself
Learners with dyslexia — text and audio together is more powerful than either alone
ESL and multilingual learners — hearing natural pronunciation while reading helps language acquisition
Anyone learning on a commute — a video you have to watch isn't portable; audio with text is
Voiceover removes these gates. The same course works for a nine-year-old, a fluent adult, and someone with reading difficulties.
And it's not accessibility theater — it's the most-used feature in the platforms that have it. Learners choose it even when they don't need to.

Questions?
Q: Does voiceover work for all content types? A: Text and structured content blocks, yes. For embedded videos, quizzes, and interactive elements, we read the surrounding context but not the interactive part itself.
Q: Can I disable voiceover for a specific lesson? A: Not yet, but we're adding per-lesson controls in the next release. For now, contact support if you need to opt out.
Q: What if the AI reads something wrong? A: Unusual spellings, acronyms, and technical terms sometimes get mispronounced. We're building an interface to mark problem words and re-record just those segments. In the meantime, let us know and we can manually adjust.
Q: Can learners download the audio? A: Not yet. We're working on offline playback, which will include audio downloads for personal use.
Q: Can I use a human narrator instead? A: Not in this release. If you have a professional narrator, you can upload the audio file as a separate media block in the lesson (coming in the next update).
